Full Moon Photography

Family & Lifestyle Photographer

Organic, Comfortable & Real

I’m a Washington DC based Family and Lifestyle Photographer. I’m a mom, lover of music, coffee, books and all things organization. My photography journey started when I was kid. My big sis was my first subject. She was/is super fancy and not camera shy.

We would set up a back drop (A bedsheet and a stereo speaker as her seat). She would get dolled up and 10 year old Zina would capture images.

Back then, you would take a pic, and hope for the best until the drugstore developed images came back. But, I actually got some good shots.

Fast forward 27 years………..

I was a new mother and resurfacing from 2 years of finding my way through my new normal as a mom and I found a camera. Literally-Found a camera.

It was a Nikon D5000 with a kit lens and it was sitting on the retaining wall in front of our house. I asked my neighbors and posted it as “found” on the neighborhood listserv and no one claimed it.

So I cleaned it up and started taking photos of my favorite daughter, her dad, and ALL of the things. Then, I found a photography course and became a part of a community of photographers in my area.

It was on from there. In 2018, I officially launched Full Moon Photography.

I launched quietly and scared, but I launched.

My inner 10 year old was doing the running man with delight.

Moon is my family surname.

Full Moon Photography is in homage to my family, my ancestors, and the many stages of the moon.

My jam is capturing people.
